It would appear to be 6.0.29.2

I do not know if my clients license lets them update (I would love that since this version also has known issues with Windows 10).

We provide free upgrade for one year. So if they have purchased it within last year then it should not cost them anything. In that case they can log into their account, then revisit the license key page to get a new license key for the current version.

If they are beyond one year, then they will need to upgrade. The upgrade price would depend on the "distance" between the version they purchased and the current version, the older their version is, the more expensive the upgrade. They can click "Renew" under the "Subscription" column to find out exactly how much it will be.

Thanks!

Is there a trial that we can use to ensure it works with our data? I'm not really interested in recommending a costly upgrade if its not going to work.

Yes. You can just download it from our download page. Make sure you do NOT apply your old license key. If you do not apply any license key, then it will proceed to the trial mode. If you apply your old license key with the new version, you will get an exception.

So, there will be no DEFECT resolution for the version that we have purchased?

It depends on when you report the issues to us. When you purchase the product, you will receive free upgrade for one year. So if you report the issues to us within one year and we addressed it, then you will be able to get the update for free. However after one year you will need to pay to upgrade. We have this policy because very often the line between "bug" and "feature" is very blurred. In case a rare used syntax or a minor error in your PDF file (which is most likely your case), you can either call it as "a syntax that is not supported" to categorize it as a missing feature or call it as "a case that is not properly handled" thus categorize it as a bug. If we were to promise free "DEFECT" resolution forever then everyone would be able to find something that wasn't there in the old version and now exists in the new version and claim it as a bug and receive the new version for free. This is particular easy to do for our product since we constantly add new features/improvements to the product. Obviously that would not be fair to us. This is why we provide free upgrade for one year only.
