Keyboard navigation across a 0 width column in eo grid Options

In my grid I have multiple columns with a width of 0. These columns carry meta data for the columns that are displayed and need to be beside the column they support for ease of identification. I am allowing keyboard navigation in the grid but when I use the left or right arrow key the cell highlight disappears while moving across a "hidden" column. Is there a way to get the keyboard navigation to skip columns with a width of 0?
