Hi Team,

We are using AspxLab.WebControls.dll version 2.7.4 in our web project running on .Net framework 1.1. Recently the server is migrated to windows 2012 with IIS 8.5. Our application's aspxlab controls is not working on it. For example, we are using the aspxlap menu control to display the menu which is not showing the menu at all. however we dont see any error getting displayed instead.

The same application is hosted on another web server windows 2008R2 with IIS 7.5. It is running successfully with menu displaying in it. We are having other controls like aspxlab Callbak, multipage which is also working fine.

Kindly advice if any specific additional setup is required on Web.config/Machine.config to make the controls workable on windows 2012, IIS 8.5.

Hi,

You will need to migrate to the new EO.Web Controls. AspxLab was the old name we had about 10 years ago, so the version you have is an extremely old version. It does not support newer .NET frameworks or newer IIS, nor does it work well with newer browsers. The main browser for AspxLab was IE 6, now IE is 11, not to mention that Chrome didn't exist and now it's version 43. As such if you are switching to Windows 2012 and IIS 8.5, you definitely want to switch to the latest EO.Web Controls as well.

Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you for your quick response, but we will lsoe our customer confidence as this is a show stopper production issue and we are looking for a quick fix while our long term objective is to upgrade which will take time to do the development?

Hi,

There is no quick fix for this. It won't work. This is like asking how to use a 5.25 inch floppy disk for dinosaur computers with a modern tablet. One is simply too old for the other. Not to mention that your version is more than 10 years old and we have stopped supporting it a long time ago.

Thanks!
