Good morning,

I'm deploying an ASP.NET application developed in Visual Studio 2003 which contains the component EO.Web TreeView (2007.2), I have deployed it before without problems but after doing a change and deploy it again it shows the Message:

"The control library wasn't able to automatically initialize correctly. Prease refer to http://www.essentialobjects.com/Go.aspx?id=1002 for instructions on how to initialize EO.Web controls manually."

The mentioned link doen't exist, and although I have found some posts regarding this problem reference links are broken, I suppose it is because it affects an old version of the component, but I need to maintain it due to my system requirrements.

Could you help me to solve it, please.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

Please try to follow these steps and see if it resolves the problem for you:

http://www.essentialobjects.com/doc/1/installationanddeployment/webconfig.aspx

If that does not resolve the problem, your best option is to purchase a new license for the current version. Your version is about 7 years old, which is an extremely long time in the Web development business. Both web browser and server side technologies updates very quickly these days. Your version does not support newer browsers since those browsers did not exist when they were released (for example, Chrome didn't exist in 2007 but now is at version 39; Another example is for many server controls to work properly in IE 11 it requires a server side update for ASP.NET. Additionally, we only provide one year free tech support after the purchase, obviously that has already long expired for you. Switching to current version will address all those issues for you, and you will also get another year of tech support (We usually offer upgrade discount for the past three versions, however your version is too old to qualify any upgrade discount).

Thanks!
