EO.Web.Menu 2007.2 does not seem to work in Visual Studio 2010. Dragging the Menu control into the design space gives the error message that the control is built for Net 2.0 and I must use Menu Control Net 1.1. This is despite the fact that ASP NET 2, 3, and 4 are installed.

Can I upgrade this developers license to the latest version and for how long will this license be valid ?
Which Microsoft upgrades will stop it from working ?
Must I deploy Website as NET 4.0 for maximum application life ?

d'oh!

Hi,

Your version was released long before VS2010/.NET 4.0 was released so it does not support them. That's why a new license is needed in order to use the current version with VS 2010 and .NET 4. You can try to set your application to run .NET 2.0 instead of .NET 4.0 and see if that fixes the problem for you at runtime. There is no workaround for design time inside VS2010 since it's not supported.

If you wish to use VS2010 or .NET 4 at runtime, then you will need to purchase a new license. The current version is version 11 (2013), and your version is version 5 (2007.2). The license is valid forever but we only offer upgrade discount for the past three versions (so currently 2012, 2011 and 2010 has upgrade discount). The older your version is, the less the discount. The last version that has upgrade discount is EO.Web Controls 2010.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to let us know if you have any more questions.

Thanks!
Hans
