Hi,

I would like to know how to add controls dynamically to a treeView control using vb.net. For example a standard GridView control.

Thanks

Hi,

You would use a CustomItem control together with the TreeView. You can then dynamically add controls into the CustomItem control. The dynamically adding control part has nothing to do with us, but the CustomItem is a feature of the TreeView. You can take a look of our samples to see how it works.

Thanks!

Where do I find the example that adds any control dynamically to the tree view using CustomItem control?

Also I dont understand. How do we get the most returns from this purchase if we cant get help about using the methods or properties or functionality of the controls?

Please help, as I need to perform a critical task with additing controls to the treeview.

Thank you

Hi,

As we told you the dynamicallying add control part has nothing to do with us. That's generic ASP.NET programming. So we do not have any samples to show you that.

You can find CustomItem sample here:

http://demo.essentialobjects.com/Demos/Menu/Features/Nesting%20Controls/Demo.aspx

The sample is for menu, but it works the same way for a TreeView.

Note that depending on how complicate the control you are trying to put in is, it may not work for all controls.

Thanks

This works only for one control on the form. Also the control stays visible until you click the tree node that it should appear under. How do I resolve this?

Do you charge to provide answers to generic ASP.NET programming?

Hi,

We charge $199/hour for supporting generic ASP.NET programming questions. But we would prefer you to find your answer elsewhere because we do not want you to rely on us for questions that are not directly related to our product. Simply put, you cannot rely on us for your whole programming task just because you bought our product. Because we offer our tech support for free, so we have a very firm position on not answering any questions that are not directly related to our product in order to avoid abuse. Hope you understand.

Thanks!

Hello,

When you refer me elsewhere to find help about the CustomItem, where do you mean I should ask?

Also, you know that the example in the above url will not answer my question and it is one of the reasons I bought your product. I had to fight tooth and nail to procure this product, as I was showing the kind of things it can do.

Now what are you saying? Please give me those references.

Thanks

Hi,

Dynamically adding a control to CustomItem has nothing to do with the CustomItem because dynamically loading control is the same everywhere. You just have to understand how dynamically adding controls work first. That's the part you need to find answer yourself.

The above Url and the associated source code (which is already on your machine) show exactly what you need to do to use the CustomItem control. You just have to go over the sample to understand how it works first. That sample has clearly told you what to do to use this feature.

Please you do need to understand our position on support: we will not do your job just because you wanted us to do it or because you do not know how to do it. So you have to do your part yourself, or pay the $199/hour fee if you want us to do it. You won't get a different answer just because you ask the same question again. We can't give you a different answer as that will encourage everyone to run their own programming question through us. We can not afford that. Hope you understand.

This issue is now closed.

Thanks
