Hi,

The company I work for has just bought a licence for the Web Controls (V9.0.45.2) from you, however I cannot get the nag screen to disappear. I have tried all the options you list on this support forum etc.. but I do notice that the licx file we have been given has host="MANAGER" however the PC host name the web server is running on (i.e. I have typed 'hostname' from an XP dos box) gives the hostname as "manager" in lower case does that make a difference ? I assume I cannot just change the host in the licx file.
Also I have tried to add the EC.Web.Runtime.AddLicense(....) to the web apps Application_Start() method but that doesn't work either.

Thanks.

Hi,

The domain name is not necessarily the same as your computer name. Please see this post for more information about the domain name restriction for a standard license:

Thanks!

Hi,

I realise that about the domain/computer name but the company engineer has set up a stand alone PC (XP) and no other computers on the network, that will be the server that the web controls will run on it, but there is as far as I can understand no domain name just a computer name. Is that possible or is there another licence type he should have ?.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am not sure if you understood the contents of the previous link. It doesn't matter whether your computer is isolated or not, or you are using a short computer name, or a full domain name. What matters is the name you used in the Url must match the name in the license file. The other license type is developer license, which is more expensive but does not have this restriction.

Thanks
