Hi,
We've recently bought a developer license for EO.Web Controls Suite (2011). I've entered the key into the License Manager on my development machine (although I'm not clear what this has done!)
I've also downloaded the license file from the Redistribute Key tab on the License Key page.
I now want to promote the site (using the EO.Web controls) to a test machine so I can continue development. Unfortunately despite putting the eo_web.licx file into the root folder and bin folder on the test machine I still see the 'TreeView requires a license' message banner.
What have I done wrong? How I can use the license key/file to show the DLL that the product is licensed?
I should point out that the URL of the test site does not include the domain I entered on the License Key page. This is because we tend to create DNS entries for internal websites that do not include the actual hostname. To clarify that - if the web server is webtest(.domain.com) with the website located in the testsite virtual directory we create a testsite DNS entry that points to webtest(.domain.com). So all that is entered in the browser address bar is http://testsite/.
Could that be the problem?

Hi,
Most likely the host name is the problem. Standard license restricts your license to a single host name. So if you access your site through any other host name rather than the one you put in your license file, then it will trigger the license warning message.
There are a number of options:
1. Ignore the message since it's a test environment. The license message will not affect functionalities so you can still test everything else;
2. Create a DNS entry that maps the real domain name to your app in your test environment, so that you would still access your application through the licensed domain name;
3. Upgrade to a developer license to remove the host name restriction (we can upgrade you for the price difference). Developer license does not restrict host names so it can be used with any host names. You will need a discount code in order to place the upgrade order. Let us know if you wish to upgrade so we can create the code for you;

I think we'll go for the upgrade to a developer license please. How should I go about getting the discount code? Do you want my email address (I'd rather not post it on here!) or should we email you? Or would the original order number be of any use?
