Is there any way to put the pager information on the top of the grid control? When there are 100 items displayed per page, and the last page has 1 record on it, the users are having to scroll up to the top to see the 1 item record.

No. You can not do that. You can implement your own pager to do that, but the Grid's built-in pager is always at the bottom.
