I am not clear as to what the clear word format button is intended to do.
What type of word formatting will it remove.
I have tried creating a table in word and copying it into the editor then clicking on the clear word format button, but it does not appear to do anything at all.

Hi,
This is normal. You won't see any difference in HTML view at all because it clears some Word attributes that are not used in HTML. For instance Word may generates HTML with class="msoNormal". "msoNormal" is used by Word but does not exist in your page. Thus removing it will not change how the HTML is rendered at all. The purpose of the feature is to clear up "useless" attributes in your HTML that were created by Word.
