Spell Check Control causing 5 second lag in SalesLogix Options

The EO Spell Check Control is causing 5 second lag in SalesLogix when navigating from record to record. I.e. When a customer (New York Stock Exchange) added the control to the SalesLogix Account.ascx form, it loads the control during every record change. Changing a record in SalesLogix reloads the form which is causing the control to reload. It appears to take 4.6 to 6.2 seconds to execute the eo_web.ashx. this is causing a noticable delay in changing records. Is this behavior to be expected of this control or is there something we can do to speed its execution?
