Grid Design Time Issues Options

All three of my development systems run WIN 2003 Server (all up to date).

When trying to edit an EO.Web.Grid header in design time by clicking the Edit Grid item, I can make design time changes within this wizard, but it isn't updating the source code html. So when I run it, the changes aren't showing up.

Is there a patch to fix this? I can't be the only person having this issue since it's happening on all three of my Visual Studio 2008 development environments.

I've performed a work around by cutting and pasting the CSSText code created in the wizard directly into the source properties, but this is a headache.

Please advise,
Stuart Evans

Hi,

Thank you very much for posting in the forum. We will look into it and see what we can find. In the mean time, can you try using "Edit Grid...", then edit columns and see if it works for you?

Thanks

I am going into "Edit Grid ...".

Here, I will see if I can clarify.

I add a grid to a page. I create the grid from one of your templates ... in this case I selected vista (but seems to be an issue no matter what template I load).

In "Appearance - Column Header" there is a "ColumnHeaderStyle" where there is a default image within the "BackgroundImage" property. If I clear this image out of that property and click "OK", the image within the header remains. It only disappears when I go into the CSSText properties and delete the URL reference to the image ... if I click okay from here ... everything seems okay and the source code updates. But if I try to use the "BackgroundImage" property again to add that image back in, it doesn't work. I have to add the URL reference back in.

The wizard doesn't seem to work properly when editing the properties of the grid. Are other people experiencing this issue? I even loaded the demo project and message around with the Grid/Style 1 design and still had the same issues.

Some things seem to work, some things don't. Trying to create a grid without loading a template doesn't seem to ever allow me to update the properties. I simply added a grid to the web page (VB by the way), created three rows manually and just wanted to update the header properties to have a simple green background with white text. If I try using the Backcolor and Forecolor properties in the "ColumnHeaderStyle", it looks okay in the design window, but when I click over to the source, I don't see anything within the control code that indicates my changes were accepted, in fact if I run the page, the header changes don't show up.

I am not sure why this is happening. Please advise.

Hi,

This appears to be a bug. You can click the "..." button next to "ColumnHeaderStyle" property to bring up the style editor and then delete background image from there. Please let us know if that works.

Thanks

Is there going to be a bug fix for this in the near future?
