Menu item hidden by flash Options

We are testing the Menu control. Sub menu drops down over a flash piece. In IE it works as expected. In FireFox the sub menu is hidden behind the flash. The Menu control is in a dot net custom web control.

VS 2008
IE 8
FireFox 3.0.14

I replaced the flash piece with an image and the Menu control worked.
I tried setting the position and z-index of both the menu and flash div but no luck.
