There is no one magic wand for this. Our controls does two things:

1. Make sure that stuff we generated are rendered consistently accross all browsers. For example, a column is set to be 100 pixel width would be the same width in IE and FireFox. Scrolling works the same way in IE and FireFox, etc;
2. We take the CSS you give to us and render it as is. So if that is not correct, the result won't be correct. Most of our samples use CSS that works consistently across all supported browsers, but we do not guarantee that on the control leve because the control simply takes whatever you give to it;

Having that said, if the problem is in the CSS, then there is no simple magic wand to resolve the issue. The best way is to do it with trial and error. You may want to start from a working sample and then try to narrow down step by step by comparing the working one and non-working one. We would do the same if we were to troubleshoot it.
