treeview in master page Options

I am trying to use the treeview in a masterpage, but it does not maintain state (i have the property to save state accross pages set and I see the addition to the url.

Any idea what is wrong?

Sounds like you have the same issue as in this post:

The reason is the pupulated nodes on demand are not retained in the ViewState.
