Hi All,

I have a requirement that i need to convert a pdf if i get the file with anyone of the below extensions.
E-mail: .msg
Office documents: .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, pptx, rtf.
Text files: .txt
Pictures: .jpg, .png .gif

I already used this component and i know we can generate a pdf with html. But i'm just wondering is it possible to convert a pdf using this tool with the above mentioned file extensions.

Please reply me. your answers are highly appreciated. we have a urgent requirement to fix it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can convert any files that the regular Google Chrome browser can load and render natively. So while you can convert well known image file types such as .jpg, .png, .gif, you will not be able to convert MS Office files such as .doc, .docx or Outlook's msg file.

Thanks!

I am not sure if what you meant by "MS Office tools". Our product can NOT read MS Office files such as .doc files. It can only read what Chrome browser can read natively (without any third party extensions).

Thanks for your quick response.
What i am trying to convey here is your product cannot read the following extensions (.doc/.ppt/.xls/.txt/.msg/.rtf/.docx/.pptx/.xlsx) to convert as a pdf.

Am i correct?

You are correct except for .txt file. .txt file is plain text so Chrome can read it. As such our product can read it too.
