We just upgraded to the latest version of EO 6.0.26.2, and we're now we are getting the "license error" on top of our pages. One of our developers posted in this forum earlier today asking about our license information. I think the response was to log in to our "account" and check there to see the terms of our license. We don't have the login/pwd that we initially ordered with. So, we contacted our purchasing department. They provided us with the following information:

PO # DO11682
Order was placed on 12/4/07
Order was for Qty 1 of Essential Objects EO.Web Controls Suite 200.2.12 for ASP.NET

Note: We have since then upgraded our qty and added several more licenses for additional developers.

Your EULA states that our Developer License allows us to all versions of the product for one (1) year. It's been less than one year. So, what can we do to keep the EO License message from appearing on our pages? I can paste our license key into this message if you like.

Hi,

Since the order was placed on 12/4/07, which is still within one year, so you should be able to use the new release. The key is every release uses a different license file. In another word, your old license file will not work with the new release. So you will need to get a new license file.

When an order is placed, we email out the license link to the purchaser, the purchaser would then set up an account in our system and the order would be associated to that account. Any further information, including new license keys for new versions, are to be accessed by that account. It would be against our policy to provide license information that belongs to one account to another user, even when the other user can provide the order number. We have this policy in place to avoid unnecessary dispute that may occur when the second user have acquired the key without the authorization of the original account owner.

We can provide the email of the user who has access to the license information, through him/her you should be able to get the new key. Note that the new license key covers new version of your existing controls, does not cover new controls, which is a policy that we have always been clearly listed on our purchase page.

Please feel free to let us know if you still have any questions.

Thanks
