Is there any way to set how many rows of daycells should be displayed in a month? I'm trying to hide the last unnecesary(?) row of empty days.

No. You can not do that. The reason is that user can scroll the calendar to a different month. If we were to allow the last row to be removed, then user would see the calendar size jumps and shrinks when scrolling, which many users consider extremely quirky.
