We have been using HtmlToPdf.ConvertUrl without having to deploy/install EO.WebEngine (this was EO.2015). Now, we are getting this error:

Could not load file or assembly 'EO.WebEngine, Version=24.1.46.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e92353a6bf73fffc' or one of its dependencies


Has this functionality changed? We are trying to void deploying EO.WebEngine as it is 122 M.

Hi,

You do need EO.WebEngine.dll for the new version. Your version (2015) is based on an extremely old browser engine released in 2011. It was a much smaller browser engine so it can be embedded inside EO.Pdf.dll entirely. The current version is based on a much newer version of the Chromium browser engine. It is a much more advanced but unfortunately much larger engine. That engine is currently embedded inside EO.WebEngine.dll. So that DLL is needed for HtmlToPdf.ConvertUrl.
