Hi EO team,

We're in a process to increase the security level of our production environment and it seems that HTTPS requests initiated by EO.Pdf don't work when TLS 1.2 is enforced at the WAF level (Web Application Firewall).

The EO.Pdf, EO.WebEngine & EO.WebBrowser components deployed in our production environment have version 16.1.4.0 and I'd like to know if this version does support TLS 1.2 negotiation at WAF level or not.

If we have to upgrade to a newer version with complete TLS 1.2 support, what'd be the most indicated stable version that we could use for production environments ?

Thank you very much!

Hi,

We are actually no expert on TLS. We basically take the Chromium engine as is and we do not know much about the internal details specifically on this topic (we do know a great deal about areas that are related to our product such as the rendering process since it pertained to the HTML to PDF feature). We are under the impression that TLS 1.2 has been fully supported in your version based on this page (version 16 is based on Chromium V49):

If you plan to update, we would always recommend you to update the latest build. Chromium is a huge and constantly moving project. New issues/vulnerabilities are constantly being discovered and patched --- pretty much the same as everything else such as Windows these days. So running a years older version is similar to running Windows for years without applying any security update, which is probably not a good idea in the connected world as we are in now.

Thanks!
