I understand from an old post that PDF rendering means adjusting from pixels to a float value (https://www.essentialobjects.com/forum/postst8846_EO-PDF--Convert-HTML-table-borders.aspx) Is there a newer/alternative approach (maybe something more advanced)? to get rid of the faint lines sample: https://img42.com/Nj93_thanks.

No. Unfortunately there is none ---- the new version does handle such situation somewhat better than older versions because it uses a much newer browser engine and the new browser engine natively supports float coordination (in order to support scenarios such as different zoom levels on screen). However the basic unit for the browser engine is still pixel (float coordination is for the so called "sub pixel" rendering), and the basic unit for PDF is still point. So there is always going to be a conversion between the two.
