Hello,
We use EO.WebBrowser to handle new windows and allow pdf content with the embedded pdf viewer.
For a few clients, using the 2015.2.10 version, we get "Couldn't load plug-in" error inside the popup. We have seen this behaviour in windows 8 and 7 but not on every machine. We are trying to pinpoint common elements among the failing computers (user privileges, os language etc)...
Any ideas?

Just an update:
it appears that's it's a matter of user name. We were able to reproduce the problem with a greek username that includes a space (e.g. "Δημήτρης Ανώνυμος" .

Hi, We have tested this in our environment and it seems to work fine. Can you create a test app and send the test app to us? See here for more details on how to send test app to us: http://www.essentialobjects.com/forum/test_project.aspxThanks!

Hello, Thanks for the reply! There is no need for a sample project, you can just fire up EOTabbedBrowser.exe from the installed samples. Conditions:
windows user: ΚΩΣΤΑΣ ΜΑΛΙΑΓΚΑΣ windows user profile folder: c:\users\ΚΩΣΤΑΣ ΜΑΛΙΑΓΚΑΣ windows registry profile folder setting (ProfileList folder in registry): c:\users\ΚΩΣΤΑΣ ΜΑΛΙΑΓΚΑΣ The outcome with tabbed browser is : "could not load plugin" screenshots: http://www.easy-med.eu/support/screens/profile_registry.pnghttp://www.easy-med.eu/support/screens/browser_could_not_load_plugin.pnghttp://www.easy-med.eu/support/screens/logedin_user.pnghttp://www.easy-med.eu/support/screens/profile_files.pngKind regards, Jim

Hi,
We did create a user with exactly the same name and tested that case here. We will try again on a different system.
Thanks!

Hi,
We tested this on another system and it still works fine. What is your system region settings?
Thanks!

It's not a problem with the regional settings. Please try the following:
1) Move eo.tabbedBrowser directory (bin folder) to a path that involves the greek characters (e.g. to the user's desktop) 2) run eo.tabbedBrowser 3) the pdf plug-in cannot be loaded anymore
The same thing happens with our application since it's a .net app that gets installed inside the user's profile folder. Hence, the plug-in cannot be started.
Regards,
Jim

Does Windows version still matter? We tested this on Windows 2012 and it still works fine.

Plug-in fails when the dlls live in a path that contains those chars. Did you move the Eo.browser 'bin' folder to such a folder?

Yes. We did try that and it still works fine. Do you have the exact error message? Or you can also email us a screenshot. See here for our email address: http://www.essentialobjects.com/forum/test_project.aspxThanks!

Hello,
Ok, I've just e-mailed you some teamviewer details. I will leave this system on for a few days so that you can investigate when it's more convenient for you.
Please let me know if you need anything else from our side. Thanks.
Kind regards,
Jim

Hi,
This is just to let you know that we have posted a new build that should resolve this issue. You can download the new build from our download page.
We have verified the fix in the test environment you provided before making the final build. However we have not been able to do so with the final build since we can no longer connect to your test environment. So please try the new build on your end and let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hello,
Yes, I can verify on the test system that the pdf plugin works ok! I will try the new DLLs to some of our customers in a few hours, so if anything comes up I will report back!
Thank you very much for the fix!
Regards,
Jim
