Hello,

We have been getting an error for the EO.Web menu control in IE 9. We are currently using EO.Web.dll version 9.0.27.2.

Error message:
Unhandled exception at line 6, column 30436 in eo_web.ashx. 0x800a01b6 - Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support the property or method 'replace'

Do you know what could be causing this error?

Thank you for your time!
Matt

Hi,

Do you have the page online so that we can take a look?

Thanks!

Hi there, unfortunately I don't. It's for a custom site that will be only available to customers of ours. Is there anything you can tell me to provide that I can get for you? I have access to all of the code as needed.

Hi,

If you can isolate the problem into a test project, you can send the test project to us in zip format (let us know if you do not have our email address). We will to be able to put the page through a debugger in order to find out the root cause of the problem.

Also you will want to check if the new version fixes the problem. Both your version and IE 9 were released in 2011. So it's possible that there were still some new issues introduced by IE 9 that were not addressed in your version yet.

Thanks!

I'll see what I can do, but I am not sure that I can do that and reproduce the issue. I am not sure how to get the newest version of the dll, can you help me with that? I'd like to see if that fixes the issue first. If you'd prefer to discuss this over email please let me know and we can converse that way rather than clogging up your support forum :)

Hi,

You would just download it from our download page. However please be aware that you will need to purchase a new license in order to use the new version. I see the order in your account is EO.Web Controls 2007.1, which is in fact version 4, that is years before IE 9 was released. We do give upgrade discount for the past three version. The current version is 11, so if you do have a license for version 9, you can PM us your order number and we should be able to give you upgrade discount. However v4 is too old to qualify any discount.

Thanks!

Hi there, we actually have a newer license but it is under another developers account. We tried to get it into my account but were unsuccessful. I'll have him see if he can download the newest version and get back to you.

Hi,

Everyone can download and try the trial version from our download page. The difference between his account and your account is that his license is for a newer version, thus he would qualify some discount when he upgrade, where as yours is too old for any upgrade discount. In any case, you can let him to either PM us or use the contact us page to contact us and provide the license details, once we verify that we should be able to give you/him the exact cost of the upgrade.

Thanks!
