I have one client that is having trouble printing the PDFs created by EO.PDF. She is using Adobe Acrobat and the first 6 pages are printing (of 82) to her color laser and then it just hangs. It also takes a long time before printing starts. I am having no problems printing on my end - though it does take a while from Adobe Reader (I usually use Nitro PDF and it is much faster.) My printer is a MFP inkjet, not Postscript like I assume hers to be. She also tried recreating the PDF using a PDF printer and that hung up as well. When I have her use the "Print as Image" option, it prints just fine and prints quickly. I have had these types of printing issues off and on for the past 15 years through a few different PDF libraries and the "Print as Image" option always seems to fix it. Or using a different PDF viewer. Do you have any insight into what I might be able to do to get your PDFs working without this workaround? Here is an example of a PDF file having the issue. Thanks, Brad

Hi,
No. We can not think of anything. It's not possible for us to look into this kind of issue giving it's just a single occurrence. It could be the printer's issue, it could be Adobe Reader's issue, and both are huge black boxes to us that it is impossible for us to guess what's happening inside. If you wish to track to the bottom of this issue, you will have to track it from the source --- for example, the contact the printer manufacture as to why it hangs. If they can tell us what's causing their printer to hang, then we might be able to track it back to our code and tell you what you can do to avoid it.
Thanks!

I don't think this is a specific printer issue, since it is also happening from Adobe's print to PDF driver.
It happens on most of the PDFs we give her so it is not a one off thing.
But I get the whole black box thing. You're product is a black box to me so I am trying to peek into it! I tried to find a good PDF validator, and found PDFHarmony. It says the file is fine.
I see that you produce a PDF 1.4 file version. Is there a way to specify a different version? I am am just throwing spaghetti at the wall at this point.

Hi,
We create PDF 1.4 by default. Certain features such as PDF portfolio requires a higher version and if you use that feature, then the PDF file version will be automatically bumped up.
Thanks!
