Hi. I want to embed all the fonts in a PDF. I'm using EO.pdf Merge. I have some issues about it. 1.- Merge does not embed some common fonts (i.e. Arial) 2.- I've read in another post that " The font to be embedded must be a TrueType/OpenType font". So my question is: What about Type 1 fonts? (i.e. Helvetica). http://www.essentialobjects.com/forum/postst5721_Can-I-embed-a-font-into-a-new-pdf.aspx3.- Let's merge 2 pdf files. One of them does not have all the fonts it uses embedded. But all the fonts are installed in my computer. If I run Merge, will them be embedded in the merged pdf file? 4.- Is there a way to know if a font used by a pdf file is not installed in my computer? That would be very helpful to warn the user about it. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,
The PDF merger ONLY merge what's already in the source PDF files. So for example, if the source files have font A embedded, the result file will have font A embedded. If none of the source file has a specific font embedded, then the result file won't have that font embedded. In another word, the PDF Merger does not bring anything outside of the source files into the result files.
Other comments you read about embedded font are for generating PDF files. For example, if you use our HTML to PDF converter to create a PDF file, then you have the option to control whether to embed fonts or not.
There is no way to know a font used by a PDF file is not installed on your computer. If you are concern about that, you should embed all the fonts (that's the default option). This is one of the most important reason why PDF is so popular ---- because fonts are embedded in the file, so it is truely "portable" and can be displayed on any target system, even if the target system does not have that font.
Thanks!
