Hi,
I would like to try the slider before I upgrade.
I have downloaded the latest version (All controls) and updated my license key with the License manager, but none of the new controls show up in the visual studio toolbox. Should they? If not, how can I download the slider to play around with it?
Thanks

Hi, It has nothing to do with the license. You need to uninstall your old version and reinstall the new version. After that the new controls supposes to show up. If it doesn't, you can either manually add them to the toolbox following steps listed here: http://www.essentialobjects.com/doc/1/installationanddeployment/install.aspxOr you can simply just manually declare the controls in your page. Thanks!

Hi,
Yes, I did uninstall the previous version, install the new one and updated the license key. The controls are available in the visual studio designer as they should, without any error message, and they function as expected when I run the application. However, the installation process did not create a new tab in the visual studio toolbox and when I try to go add the items manually as described, none of the eoWeb controls are listed in the .Net framework components. Where do I go wrong?

Quick precision,
When I say the controls are available, I am talking only of those I actually used in my application. I have no way of knowing what controls are really available.

Hi,
In that case you probably got an issue with your Visual Studio. The steps outlined in the previous link are quite thorough ---- if you follow them strictly step by step, you should see our controls in the list. If you do not, you may want to ask someone around you to help you out or contact MS if you have a support contract with them. From the component of view, as long as the function fine (meaning the DLL is not corrupted), then Visual Studio should take them.
Or you can just ignore the toolbox. It's really not a big deal whether they show up in your toolbox or not. You can always just copy the definition into your page. Once the controls show up in your page, everything else is the same. The only difference is the first drag and drop.
Thanks!

You are right, It looks like a visual studio issue of sorts.
I understand I can use the controls (including the new ones) by copying the definition.
Thanks for your help and for your always very quick answers.
