I can not seem to resolve my license issue.

I have the purchased the following licenses.

EO.Web Controls Suite (2009) - 1 License(s)
Order Date 8/29/2009

EO.Web Slide Menu (2010) Developer License - 1 License(s)
Order Date 11/10/2010

I am using the Slide Menu for a new site that I am developing for a client. It is the only EO Control that I am using in this site.

Here are the steps that I have used to resolve the issue:

First Attempt

1. Downloaded and installed the latest version of EO
2. Clicked on View License for the Slide Menu
3. Generated a license key (C# without specifying the domain) for the slide menu license
4. Copied the DLL to the bin directory of the site
5. Added the license code to the global.asax application start

Second Attempt:

1. Clicked on View License for the Slide Menu
2. Generated a license key specified the domain name (with out the www)
3. Copied the license key to the global assembly
4. Stopped & Restarted the web server

Third Attempt:

1. Tried copying the license key to the bin directory of the web site
2. Removed the license code from the global.asax file
3. Restarted IIS

Fourth Attempt:

1. Moved the license file to the root of the web server
2. Stopped & Restarted IIS.

Nothing has worked. Is there an issue with the way I have licensed the product (i.e., Suite 2009 vs Slide Menu 2010)? Do I need a different license type?

Kind regards,

Paul Gregg

Hi,

Try to troubleshoot exclusively with the license file first. You do not need to use license file and license code at the same time (they are equivalent), but license file is easier to troubleshoot. You can try to follow these steps:

http://www.essentialobjects.com/forum/postst119_License-troubleshooting.aspx

The most common reason for license error is a version mismatch. So check that first. The second thing you will want to check is the control that you use if you are using your 2010 slide menu license. The license error message should tell you what control requires a license. For example, if the error message says "TreeView xxxxx requires a license", then it is asking a license for the TreeView control, in that case a license for any other control will not work.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. You guys rock.

The license that was purchased was the Slide Menu not the Slide that we need. I purchased the Slide Menu and everything seems to be working.

Any chance of "returning" the Slide Menu for a credit or substituting a different component?

Again, thanks for all your help.

Hi,

You are very welcome. We would be happy to extend your Slide license to a full suite license because the total price you have paid for Slide Menu and Slide is about the same as a full suite license. This way you will have all controls in the package. Will this be OK for you?

Thanks!

Nothing. :) We have just updated your license to the full suite license. You should see your new order appearing as a "2010 Control Suite" license in your order page now.

Thanks!
