How do I uninstall a key which is assigned to an installed system which, following a serious Windows fault, required a re-installing of windows, losing all my installed tools including EO before I could release the key. I have now re-installed EO on the re-built system, but it requires a key.

Hi,

It should take the same key. If it does not, please select "Verify via Web", then copy and paste the link to us via private message.

Thanks!

No joy. Pasted the licence into the App Startup subroutine. Copied eo_web.licx into BIN directory.
Still getting the unlicenced message during development.
Tried pasting the licence into the verify dialog, but it wont accept it. It just pings and doesn't paste anything.
What now ?

I have tried everything you suggest. I copied the licence ID, reply was INVALID LICENCE. I copied the signature. Same result. All older webs which existed before the d\recent windows rebuild are working ok. But the one new web project started since the windows rebuild is coming up with the licence message. I now have only 4 days left. I have re-0installed EO. Still no koy.

What next ???

Thanks

We asked you to do the following in our first reply:

"please select "Verify via Web", then copy and paste the link to us via private message. "

Why do you keep trying all other things? Do you read our reply at all?

I resent your tone inthis reply.

Is this the nature of your support? If you read my reply, you will see that I have ALREADY tried to use the verify and I cannot make it work. I already posted the licence into the box, and it will not accept it. I have posted the licence ID into the box, and it comes bacl INVALID. I have posted the licence signature into the box and it comes back invalid.

Please consider helping me rather than rebuking me. What do I do now ?

We support you based on the assumption that you reasonably understand what you do. The nature of our support is we work together to help you using our product. That does NOT mean that we are responsible to bail you out every time you have a problem. An extreme example is, if a customer does not know how to use a computer, we will not be able to help that. A more typical example is, if a customer do not understand ASP.NET but wish to use our product, we will not be able to help that either. I am not saying you are any this cases, but just trying to explain to you while you expect us to support you, we have certain expectation/requirement for you as well. In this case, we expect you to exactly follow what we tell you to do. If this sounds resentful to you, we would like to kindly ask you to try your luck with another vendor. We do not know how to serve you better in that case.

In this particular case, we asked you to:

please select "Verify via Web", then copy and paste the link to us via private message

That is all we asked you to do. We did not ask you to actually verify the key. Literally you should enter your key, click "Verify via Web", a new window should open and display you a link. You should then copy and paste that link to us via private message.
If you have any problem following what we tell you to do, or even suspect we gave you the wrong instruction, ask precisely which part you do not understand or can not follow. Do not try to stray over elsewhere and just try random things and then come back with the same question as you have already asked. Put it very plain word, if you want us to lead you out, you must follow.

Another thing, you have just posted your whole license file out right publically on the Internet and everyone else can see/download it. You are LEGALLY REQUIRED to put reasonable precautions to make sure your license key are not shared by a third party. We have the right to cancel your order and revoke your license key if it turns out that your license key have been widely circulated on the Internet and can hold you responsible for the lost of revenue that it has caused. As a result, we are asking you to delete your license key post immediately. Otherwise we will have no option but to completely cancel and blacklist your order forever. We could delete the post for you but we are asking you to delete it so that you would remember this.

The bottom line is, when there is a problem, we try our best to do our part, but at the same time, we will ask you to do your part as well. We understand your frustration, but you must to be able to follow us in order to have an effective conversation, let alone a solution for you.

Thanks
Vaughan

I have probably been using asp.net for longer than you.

I apologise for posting the licence...... I thought my emails to were personal to my login. Please remove that posting if you have already not done so.

Despite what you think, I have tried everything you ask. The Verify button is not enabled unless I put something into the box.

I can't put the key into the box, it refuses to accept it.

My bottom line is that I have done all you ask.

I still have a problem.

Your reply does not help me, so I ask again.......

What do I do next?

Thanks for understanding. Whether you use ASP.NET longer than us is irrelevant. What matters is whether you can or willing to follow what we tell you to do.

Can you explain what exactly you mean by "I can't put the key into the box, it refuses to accept it."? Try write down your steps VERY LITERALLY. Such as step 1, start License Manager, step 2, click X button, step 3, enter Y key (omit your license key) and so on. Also try to explain why each step you are trying to do match the step we asked you to do by clearly referencing our instructions.

We ask you to do so because we feel a disconnection between what we asked you to do and what you are trying to do. We are not trying to make this difficult to you, but unless we are certain that you and we are on the same page and you are following us exactly as we tell you, we will no be giving you any further instructions.

OK. Steps as follows......

1 Start menu..... select essential objects..... select licence manage
Licence manager dialog app...... Three buttons..... ADD , Remove and OK.
Add is enabled, remove is disabled.
Fields are blank.

2 Click on Add. New dialog appears. Two buttons appear, UNLOCK and VERIFY. Both are disabled.

3 Copy the licence key from my web to the clipboard

4 Paste into the verify field. Ping. Data not accepted. Field remains blank. Verify via web button remains disabled.

5 At this point, my result differs from that expected in your instructions, so I don't know what to do next.

Does this help ?

Great. Can you email a screenshot about step 4 to us? Also what do you mean by "Ping" or "Data not accepted" in your step 4? We will PM you as to where to send the screenshot.

Thanks!

OK. Doing the screen shots now.

Ping.... just the windows response when an button action fails
Data not accpeted...... the paste just doesn't do anything, the field remains blank.

Just in case you need to know, I use Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit with MS visual studio 2005

Hi,

There is no special logic in the License Manager about copy and paste key into the key window. It does not even verify the contents when you paste it. So a proper copy and paste should enter whatever on your clipboard there. Thus I would recommend you to try whatever mean to get the key in there --- even that means typing letter by letter because after all the key is only 25 digits long.

Thanks!

Success.. Found the key in your web MY ORDERS.
Pasted OK, product unlocked.

The misunderstanding was mine..... confusion about key, runtime licence and licx file.

Hopefully all now good until my next unplanned crash !

Regards, signing off with thanks

Great. Glad that you got it working. Trying to avoid misunderstanding is exactly why we wanted to make sure that we both are on the same page during the troubleshooting at every step. We apologize for strictly follow such protocols but we consider it necessary based on our years of experience from serving our customers. It's all technical and nothing personal.
