I am upgrading the controls to the latest version. Should I uninstall the old version and then
install the new controls or will the install update the old controls.

Hi,
Yes. You will need to uninstall the old version first. Otherwise the installer WILL uninstall for you, but it does not do it during the same run. So you would need to run the installer once, which would uninstall your old version; Then run the installer again and it will install the new version for you. Once the new version has been successfully installed, you will need to update your existing project's reference to use the new version because otherwise your project would still remember that it uses the old version.
