Since installing .NET 4.0 on my machine (aspnet_regiis.exe -i) my website will no longer run complaining with the error message in the subject of this post. I'm guessing that I shot myself in the foot and now need a newer version of EO.Web Controls. My license was purchased on 3/1/2008 and is for EO.Web Controls Suite (2007.2). Assuming that I am correct and need a newer version of the dll what is my minimum cost option to get my site back up?
Thanks, Gary Blakely

Hi,
Unless you MUST run your site on .NET 4.0 (for example, if you want to use Visual Studio 2010 to develop your site, or you use certain .NET 4.0 only features), the best way for you is probably to reconfigure your site to run under .NET 2.0. If you use IIS 6, you can right click your application in IIS manager, then select property -> ASP.NET, then change version from there. If you use IIS 7, then you can change that on the application pool settings. This will get your site up without costing you anything.
If you must run your site on .NET 4.0, then you will need to upgrade to the current version. Our upgrade cost depends on how far your version is behind. Unfortunately because you are three major versions behind (there have been 2008, 2009 and 2010), the upgrade cost is actually a bit high for you --- it goes 70% of the full price for your version, which would be $244. The main benefits of upgrading are new controls and newer browser support. The new license would cover all new controls in 2008, 2009 and 2010, which are not covered under your original license. Also a number of new browsers have been released (IE 8, Firefox 3, Safari 4, Google Chrome, Opera 10, etc) after your version, the new version works better with those browsers. If either the new controls or the new browsers matters to you, then it might be worth to upgrade.
Thanks
