After moving from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7, I get the following warning message when inserting essentialobjects date picker in aspx page -- Visual Studio 2008.

"Unable to initialize external designer module, please check the installation and verify that EO.Web.dll in your bin folder is th same as the installed one."

What to do to avoid this warning message?

Hi,

This is usually caused by a version mismatch. Please make sure the version your application references is the same version you installed on your system. To check the version your application references, check the version of EO.Web.dll in your app's bin directory. Compare this with the version in your Program Files\Essential Objects\EO.Web Controls xxx\Netxx\EO.Web.dll.

Thanks!

I moved from Visual Studio 2005 to Visual Studio 2008, and from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7.

Now I get the following warning when insert an EO control into a page.
"Unable to initialize external designer module, please check the installation and verify that EO.Web.dll in your bin folder is the same as the installed one."

When I attempt to open TreeViewBuilder I get:
“EO.Web is not correctly installed. Please run the installer again.”

I do not have an EO Web tab in Visual Studio tool box. When I add such a tab and click on “Choose Items,” no EO controls appear in the .NET Framework Components.

There is not folder C:\Program Files\Essential Objects\EO.Web Controls 2007.2

Do I need to reinstall EO.Web from scratch? If I do this can I use the same license file I have been using (eo_web.licx)?

What should I do?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes. You will need to re-install the same version that you had before. Please check your license file version (look for something such as "5.0" or "6.0" in your license file) and we will provide you download link that matches that version.

Thanks!
