We are using the EO Editor to develop a page content management application, using the AJAX ModalPopupExtender as a popup dialog for the editor. This works great under IE, but when using Firefox, the editor content is not displayed in the Design mode, nor can you enter any content in design mode, if the Editor.Html is set on load, the HTML view will display, but the preview only works intermittently.

Also, the image, link, anchor, color picker and other editor dialogs popup behind the editor when using Firefox, so you cannot see them until the editor is closed.

Besides changing my code to use the EO dialog, is there a work-around for using the Editor with the AJAX ModalPopupExtenter so it works correctly using Firefox?

Thanks,

Duane

Hi,

Check the version you use first. The zIndex we use used to be lower than ModalPopupExtender. That has since been changed so that our popups (dialog, date picker, etc) will appear above ModalPopupExtender. That should address the popup issue you are having.

As far as we know, HTML editing does not work well on FireFox with any kind of popups. We have not looked specifically into this issue with ModalPopupExtender but I believe this has been an issue even with EO dialog control, which works somewhat better but still not consistent with the editor. So I would suggest you try to avoid popup + editor solution while we are still working on this issue.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. I am currently using version 2008.0.63, but have downloaded version 70_23.

While I was waiting for your response, I switched to using the EO dilaog control. This does work better and seems to resolve most of the issues with Firefox.

Thanks,

Duane
